Dear Pauline..
Fascinating and lovely short history of Aylesham, I am from the same village and left some 30 years ago to live in Eastry with my husband of 47 years.... We still maintain our unique accents. I have just purchased your trilogy and really look forward to reading them...Found you through a Facebook friend who still lives in Aylesham
Good luck with your continuing writing....

I love your piece about Aylesham, Pauline. A Derbyshire miner's daughter myself, I did not realise there were pits South of the Wash. Except in Cornwall of course but that was for TIN.

Eagle eye ever ready I did spot a mistake - a been where a be should have - er - been.

I note that you consider villages to be feminine. Is this a "well-known fact"? Gender is the bane of my life here in France. A French friend - un homme - once tried to persuade me that all good things are masculine and all bad ones feminine. I spent years looking for examples to prove the opposite.

I have just had a novel accepted by Whisky Creek and it seems to be taking for ever to get to the next stage ...

See you on FB ...

Hi Pauline, I grew up in the same village and left when I was 15 to live in Australia. Although not a regular reader of fiction I will make a point of buying your books. I also can never understand why the village had a bad reputation.

Have just read your account about Aylesham. I was born in Aylesham in 1946 and totally agree with your observations. A great place to be brought up. When were you there? Sam

Congratulations, Pauline.
I am so thrilled for you. A published book. Now that is a testament to perseverence and determination. I remember reading a draft of the first few pages, and it is so exciting to see the evolution and the finished book come to life.
Way to go.
